Hillcroft ABA Clinic hosted an Open House on Thursday, April 10, 2014. The Open House was planned in recognition of Autism Awareness Month which was in April. This event also gave the community and Hillcroft Services employees an opportunity to vist the ABA Clinic to find out about the services and supports offered.
It is estimated that over 30 people attended the Open House. This included employees from Hillcroft, familites interested in services and other people from the community. Staff from the ABA Clinic were available to give guided tours of the clinic and to share information about the services provided to children with autism. Information was also available regarding insurance coverage from therapy and other community services available to children with autism.
Angela Bricker, one of the behavior consultants at the ABA Clinic, presented a brief lecture on the principles of ABA and the positive impact that the therapy can have on children with autism spectrum disorders. Participants had an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
Following this presentation, Gina Davenport, Vice President of ABA Services, thanked everyone for their participation in the Open House. The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the architectural drawing of the new ABA Clinic that will be located at the Hillcroft Services’ property located at 4105 North Walnut Street. The new ABA Clinic will offer therapy rooms for over 28 children. It will also include a large indoor gross motor play area, a small studio apartment to teach life skills, an outdoor playground, and a game activity area for older children. The goal is to have the new building open before the end of 2014.
