The Hillcroft Go Getters, a client advocacy group in New Castle, formed the Go Getters Breast Cancer Awareness Month Committee. As a team, they brainstormed ways to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Association for the month of October. Go Getters member Phillip Finnerty designed “Go Getters Fight Against Cancer,” shirts that they sold as a fundraiser. They also made and sold pink grosgrain ribbons, pink tissue paper flowers, and pink color sheets. They rewarded all staff and clients with a pink certificate for wearing pink to work on October 1st, and created a Halloween Costume fundraiser by having everyone pay a dollar to dress up for work!
The Go Getters ended up making a $235.31 donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Association!
