Jhon Gimenez was born in Guam, moved to Muncie at a very early age and came to Hillcroft in 2011. When Jhon was just six years old he had a serious bout with TB meningitis, suffered several strokes, and was given just two weeks to live! Miraculously, Jhon defied all the odds and has blossomed at Hillcroft Services. Jhon’s smile is infectious and pre-Covid, his daily ritual was to make his way around the office and politely ask “may I have a hug?” Some of his favorite hobbies include building elaborate Lego sets, collecting “smooshed pennies” and he LOVES working at Frankie D’s Flea Market where he gets to use the pricing gun.
It is through the on-going support of generous donors that Hillcroft can continue positively impacting people like Jhon…. with living, with jobs, with independence.
Jhon thrives at Hillcroft on a daily basis. He is involved in several programs including weekly Music Therapy sessions and daily Creativity Unlimited activities. Because of his amazing work in our “CU” program, Jhon was recently presented the 2020 Awesome Artist Award! Jhon is a beacon of light for us all and is a constant reminder to not take any day for granted and to enjoy life to the fullest. Jhon cannot wait until we can get back to normal so he can take his stroll around the facility to get his daily hugs!
Every day, your unwavering support makes stories like Jhon’s possible.
Much of what we accomplish here would not be possible without your continued support. Would you be willing to make a special year-end gift to help continue writing these amazing stories for all of Hillcroft’s clients? Your support will make a real, lasting impact in the lives of those who are in need of Hillcroft’s supports and services.
